Claus Poulsen

I am an experimental visual artist working with various processes, including chemical and digital manipulation, photography, metal etching, black-and-white techniques, found photos, and collage. It is important to me to explore boundaries and seek out new forms of expression. Since 2006, my images have been featured on over 100 music releases—on CD, cassette, LP, and in digital formats—including projects for German and Swedish labels, as well as my own releases. "A World in Disintegration" (*En verden i opløsning*) is an ongoing photo-art project that began in 2006. The process involves the chemical degradation of photographic slides. The slides are removed from their mounts and submerged in a chemical mixture. As elements and layers within the image blur and dissolve, what remains emerges—often accompanied by visual "noise" or traces transferred from adjacent slides. Chance plays a significant role, frequently inspiring adjustments to the process. The original slides were sourced from flea markets or discovered elsewhere. In November 2024, I held my first solo exhibition, which showcased this work involving the chemical degradation of photographic slides. Link to my website: claus.menneske.dk
